I'd rather live believing in God and find out when I die that He doesn't exist rather than living not believing that He exists, and in the end find out that He does...
I believe He does.
I believe that we all get ressurected at the same time and I believe that not all believers who died before are in heaven but rather in paradise; however, I'm not even sure if there are some believers who already went to heaven!
What point is it when Jesus said he will prepare a room for us and take us there when He returns while we are saying that believers who died before are already there? Are you telling me that Jesus had many comings already? And for what point is it being under the spell of death that Jesus went to heaven instead of this (I consider) another place called paradise (which is under "earth", and definitely not heaven), when in fact He went to heaven after he got resurrected? Is the pattern like this: death, heaven, earth and then heaven? It doesn't make sense... If Jesus did submit himself to death's power then what is the glory when he went to heaven right after his body died? (Im not questioning the power and authority of God but for me, having this other place called "paradise" makes more sense rather than people saying that believers who died have already gone to heaven. If you read the bible there are a lot of inconsistensies... But if you consider the existence of this paradise, it does make a lot more sense. For example, it explains Samuel coming up from the ground when he was "summoned" by the witch which Saul consulted to. It also explains the glory of Jesus more clearly to me. It also explained why Lazarus and the rich man can see each other and are just separated by this great chasm. Besides, why would people wait for the Lord to come ? Isn't it that that is the time when He will bring us home to heaven with Him? What is the point of waiting then when the souls of the dead believers are already in heaven?...). I think there is this other realm that is not heaven, but neither hell... Not purgatory... Purgatory sounds grim to me... But it is just this separate place... In any case, I strongly believe that we, the believers, will get resurrected and go home together as one family/church/bride one day...
Things might not be clearly stated in the bible (i.e. who the 24 elders really are--> yeah, so I do have my doubts) since only necessary things are revealed to humans, but I believe we will find more of these details one day...
