God works in many wonderful ways
just a story to share...

i heard this story from a Burmese sister in the Lord. It is pretty short but the message is purely strong.

the story goes like this.

Nowadays we know that Burma is facing instability and even before then. This friend of mine, got a friend who, in her work, shared the gospel to her fellow Burmese who doesn't know God. She specially shared Psalms 23 (the only full chapter that I can recall to have memorized...hehe). Even though that non-Christian friend didn't seem to care about the words, and didn't even listen at all; eventually after seeing that Christian officemate, he learned that Psalms 23 was about God's promise of protection. However, that non-believer wasn't changed (yeah, so what's with the words?--> i think i'm bent on thinking the same way if I wasn't born to a family who knows God), he just knew Psalms 23 by name. Then there came a time when that non-believer had to cross the boarder of Burma. There were rebels that time, indeed it was tumultous esp. in the boarders, and that non-believer had no choice but to push through. While on his way, he remembered Psalms 23, just the name, and tried talking to the God whom he does not even know. He just kept whispering Psalms 23 in his heart, believing in God's promise that in Psalms 23 there is this protection as what his officemate have many times dictated to his unlistening ears. Eventually, he was able to pass through the boarder, whole, unharmed! With just the power of protection even in the title (Psalms 23 alone and nothing more), and believing heart, he experienced God's protection. And yes, he became a believer afterwards.

Isn't it wonderful how even the things we don't really care about, for this case the mere number of the chapter and name of the book, make wonders when we really call unto God and claim the promises He has given through the Word? And isn't it amazing how God cause events to happen to bring back his lost children? Even at first that Christian officemate seemingly failed to convince the guy with God's reality, that officemate planted a seed, even just the name and idea of God's powerful protection. So for Christians, do not fear men! We may not see direct results, but it's the seed that we put into the nonbelievers mind that grows eventually in God's time. We are the vessels, God does His work ultimately =).

Proverbs 19:23
"The fear of the Lord leads to life; Then one rests content, untouched by trouble"

just a break from my daily stuff... this is me and my life
the story is not mine, so is the plot
but come with me and take the plunge
swim in the ocean of life
make some ripples down the long eternity
and praise Him again and again for this opportunity
